ICON Development Solutions has an immediate opportunity for a Pharmacist
in the Pharmacy Department.
The successful candidate will oversee and execute all protocol
requirements within the Pharmacy as they pertain to study medication(s)
in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) requirements, sponsor expectations and ICON
Development Solutions - Omaha, (IDS-Omaha), standard operating
procedures (SOPs).
Some of the responsibilities will include the following:
- Maintain accurate documents pertaining to the receiving, dispensing,
returning and/or destruction of all study mediations.
- Oversee all pharmacy technician operations and scheduling.
- Address any problems or issues that occur pertaining to the study
medication during the duration of the study.
- Be familiar with and understand protocol specific requirements.
- Be familiar with, understand and apply all SOPs applicable.
- Oversee, coordinate, account for and dispense study medication based
on protocol instructions and within data provided by the sponsors.
- Attend study start up meeting whenever possible to review Pharmacy
protocol procedures.
- Maintain and organize the Medication Rooms.
- Carry out all reasonable directives from the project Manager (PM),
Medical Director (MD) or Principal Investigator (PI).
- Maintain and educate staff on medication delivery systems (i.e.
infusion pumps) as necessary.
- Prepare medication accountability documents as required by protocol.
- Undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time
to time.
Position Qualifications and Required Experience:
- BS in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy and preferably
two (2) years of experience.
- Current Registered Pharmacist Certificate for the State of Nebraska
- Previous experience in IV admixture.
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Excellent written, oral communication, interpersonal and
problem-solving skills in the communications with the investigators,
sponsor representatives and all staff within the study.
- Knowledge of the administration systems utilized in study protocols.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Understand the concept of a 'blinded' study.
- Possess the ability to work alone as well as with a team.
- Possess leadership skills and the ability to manage individuals.
- Demonstrate professionalism and confidence at all times.
